All experience levels are welcome to a discussion and creative workshop led by Poetry Foundation Library Coordinator Maggie Queeney. In August, we explore ephemeral poetry, verse written on a variety of physical objects.
The group will explore the connections and tensions between the physical and poetic in a wide range of ephemeral poems, and conclude with a guided creative writing workshop, where participants will compose an original ephemeral poem.
All materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring an object that relates to an ongoing poetic project. Please note that these objects will be irreversibly altered during the workshop.
