Comfort Music: Rob Frye and Hanna Brock

Comfort Music presents:

Rob Frye and Hanna Brock play solos and a duo set.

Johanna Brock is a Chicago based violinist, improviser, and composer. Her work fuses an orchestral training with a love for synthesizers, house music, and ragtime. "Blending elements of pop, electronic, jazz and classical music with rhythms and melodies that seem other worldly, Brock has established herself as a truly dynamic force capable of realizing nearly any sonic vision."-Midwest Action
Rob Frye is a midwestern multi-instrumentalist. A student of woodwinds, he also plays guitar, synthesizer, casio samplers and bike tires. Flux Bikes travels on two wheels, utilizes contact mics, loopers and effects pedals as well as a custom-built solar powered sound system. "[His] saxophone, flute, and drums charge the music of Chicago-based psych/kraut ensembles Bitchin Bajas and CAVE with the manic energy and mutated "classical" sensibilities of Steve Reich and/or Sun Ra." - Hausu Mountain
