Film screenings happen every Wednesday at 8pm

Outdoor Film screenings are at dusk (sundown) out on the Comfort Station lawn.

Music performances happen every Thursday at 7pm

Art openings happen the first Saturday of every month, and are displayed for the entirety of the month

All other events happen intermittently

16 Guest Curator Series: Zak Piper

As part of our Guest curator series we welcome Zak Piper as he presents:

APRIL 27 (1968, 10min) -- Only newsreel film ever made in Chicago. Reports on a protest shut down by Mayor Daley at the CPD. Peter Kuttner, one of the filmmakers will be in attendance for a Q&A.

ROYKO AT THE GOAT (1982, 10min) - Mike Royko eats and drinks at the Billy Goat Tavern with his Sun-Times 16" softball teammates and discusses the colorful history of the sport.

Inquiring Nuns Documentary (1968, 1h 6m)
The documentary film features Sisters Marie Arne and Mary Campion, two young Catholic nuns who visit a variety of Chicago locales to ask people the question, "Are you happy?" They meet a variety of individuals ranging from hippie musicians to intellectuals, whose responses are everything from the mundane to the spiritual.

About Zak Piper: Zak is an Emmy-winning and Producers Guild Award-winning documentary filmmaker most known for producing the critically acclaimed film Life Itself, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and later won a Critics Choice Award. Zak also co-produced the acclaimed films The Interrupters and At the Death House Door among a number of other award-winning feature and short documentaries. Zak is currently producing and directing a number of documentary projects in development or production.

For the months of April and May the Guest curator series invites independent film programmers to Comfort Film to share their vision of what film means to them.
