TIPS 4 TINGLES : a live ASMR experience curated by Hanna M. Owens

Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is an experience characterized by a static-like or tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. It has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia. Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) signifies the subjective experience of 'low-grade euphoria' characterized by 'a combination of positive feelings, and a distinct static-like tingling sensation on the skin'. It is most commonly triggered by specific acoustic, visual and digital media stimuli, and less commonly by intentional attentional control. -Wikipedia

On the evening of April 26 from 8-10pm, artist and organizer Hanna M. Owens will offer personalized ASMR therapy sessions on willing guests.

Throughout the night there will be a loop video installation of work by artists Tony Bomboni and Nia M. Your ASMR Queen.

ASMR therapy, usually delivered via internet video, is a ritual that many utilize to aid with anxiety, insomnia, and relaxation. Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response, or ASMR, is the tingly, soothing sensation you may feel in your head, scalp, neck or shoulders when triggered by certain audio and/or visual cues, such as watching someone clean windows or hearing ice tinker in your glass. Often we feel this when getting a haircut or when someone whispers in our ear. You may be surprised by which triggers work on you; just writing this puts me in the zone.

If you would like to reserve a 5-15 minute session with Hanna for a specific time, you can email her directly to secure your spot at hannamowens [at] gmail [dot] com.
