Sound/ Video: Gilder, Lingan/Kart/Mattei

  • Comfort Station 2579 North Milwaukee Avenue Chicago, IL, 60647 United States (map)

Comfort Film Presents
Sound/Video screening.

A solo performance by Gilder will be followed by a synth set by Jake Lingan and Jacob Kart, with video accompaniment by Todd Mattei.

Gilder is the solo project of Michael Gillilan, who has drummed in Chicago bands J Fernandez, Thin Hymns and This Is Cinema. The ambient project explores co-opted loops of classical symphonies slowed down to the point of abstraction, recontextualized through patient and continuous repetition, and often accompanied by liquid synthesizers and stark kick drum patterns.

Baltimore native Jake Lingan is an electronic musician and founder of No Index recordings.

Jacob Kart is a Chicago-based guitarist and electronic musician. Ongoing projects include Actuators, Class War, and Bucket Brigade. His second solo album for Baro Records, "SIGINT," is due out in September, and a Bucket Brigade cassette is out in late 2016 on No Index.

Todd Mattei is a media artist working in animation, video, music, performance, the written word, and the spaces in between these discrete media. Todd has screened and exhibited throughout the US and abroad, made records with several notable music groups, and toured and performed throughout the US, Europe, and Japan.
