About the Passerines

Genre: chamber pop/experimental

Bio: Passerines is the music collective lead by Timothy Young, founded as an experimental recording project during the fall season of 2011. The project has since released a number of self produced albums with a wide ranging style utilizing and combining elements from jazz, rock, folk, concrete music, and synthpop. The output has always been grand, with a fixation on crafting expansive and ornate sonic relationships with the use of lush harmonies and interweaving counterpoint.

The collective is due to release a 5 song EP titled, By the River/Visitor: Collection in 2015. This new collection features arrangements more focused and concise. The performers include Rita Andrade on viola, Sima Cunningham on vocals and keyboards, Rob Fletcher on drums, and Kelsee Vandervall on cello.
