Comfort Film and CIMMFEST present:

Yximalloo (2014)

Naofumi Yximalloo Ishimaru is an obscure cult musician who has spent most of his 57 years on the fringes of music and society. Perennially uncertain of what he wants, Naofumi is constantly moving - drawing people to him before pushing them away and setting out alone once more. We meet him at a key moment in this cycle - amidst the dying embers of a failing romance in an anonymous Dublin suburb.Shot over a year in Ireland, Japan and the U.S., the film is a unique portrait of one man's inability and unwillingness to fit in. We move past the outward strangeness of a unique central character to deliver a moving meditation on love, individuality and the creative mind. -- IMDB

About Group 312 Film

Group312films is a not-for-profit, artists' collective of digital video directors who create one short, per director, per month, every month, for a six months period. We collaborate with one another as well as with friends, actors, editors, writers, musicians, lighting technicians, sound-designers, and graphic artists as much as possible. At each monthly meeting, we screen our projects for each other, drink, get feedback from the group and launch a new theme or topic for the following month.
Our group's movies generally have a run-time from as short as 3 minutes to as long as 20 minutes in length. Our group explores a variety of themes; narrative, poetic, experimental and music video within the thematic context of the monthly topic. All approaches are welcome. Our members encompass a variety skill levels. Some work professionally within the video/advertising profession while others come from art or film backgrounds, while there are still others who are new to video altogether. The important thing is that we all learn, inspire and find motivation with each other though the collective environment.
We welcome and encourage new members, those who are curious about our group or those who think they might be interested in exploring video in the future!
